Positive Development: GSTN Incorporates Four Additional States to Enable GST Payments Via Credit Cards/Debit Cards on the GST Portal
The GST Portal has introduced a new feature allowing GST payments through Credit Cards and Debit Cards. Taxpayers can make use of this option by selecting the E-payment method, which includes a dedicated section for Credit/Debit Card payments. Notably, the GSTN has expanded this facility to include four additional states: Jharkhand, Karnataka, Rajasthan, and Tripura.
Taxpayers are advised to thoroughly examine the transaction charges associated with various payment methods, especially when opting for Credit Cards, Debit Cards, or Bhim UPI sub-payment modes.
To initiate Credit/Debit Card payments, users are required to follow these steps:
1.Select the E-payment option.
2.Within the E-payment section, choose the Credit/Debit Card option.
3.Subsequently, select the preferred bank for the transaction.
4.Tick the agreement box for terms and conditions.
5.Click on the “Make Payment” button to complete the transaction.
The following charges are applicable for payments made through credit cards, debit cards, and UPI:

4.Gujarat
5.Haryana
6.Himachal Pradesh
7.Kerala
8.Madhya Pradesh
9.Maharashtra
10.Odisha
11.Jharkhand
12.Karnataka
13.Rajasthan
14.Tripura
This applies to all Credit/Debit cards powered by Rupay, MasterCard, Visa, and Diners at present through Kotak Mahindra Bank.
